Within the maritime industry, the CII is a metric designed to measure and quantify the amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions produced per unit of cargo transported or distance covered in maritime operations.

To help operators and ship owners comply with CII ratings, the Industrial Work Surface offers workflows including vessel monitoring, route optimisation, and performance benchmarking to compare the carbon intensity performance for different vessels, routes, and operational strategise.

Net-Zero refers to the balance between the amount of greenhouse gases emitted into the atmosphere and the amount removed or offset, resulting in no additional contribution to global warming.  CCS technology offers a way to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by capturing carbon dioxide (CO2) from industrial processes, transporting it and securely storing it underground to prevent atmospheric release (pro tip: you can learn more about this by checking out LedaFlow®).
